5 Ways to Celebrate Preschool Graduation

May 19, 2009

This week marks the end of the school year for many Albuquerque schools. If you're like me that means you have a preschool graduate on your hands! Here are some ideas for celebrating the preschool to kindergarten milestone.

Celebrate by visiting a special place - Enjoy an afternoon at Explora or take advantage of the still-kinda-cool-depending-on-the-day weather and head to the zoo. You might also try bowling or maybe some mini-golf.

Celebrate with a treat - Take the new grad out for ice cream at I Scream Ice Cream (located near Carlisle and Indian School NE), in addition to tasty ice cream, they also have lots of toys to play with while you're there. For something a little different, get a cupcake at Cake Fetish or Cupcakeology.

Celebrate with a picnic - Pack a special lunch and head to your favorite park for a picnic, or perhaps you could be adventurous and try out a new one.

Celebrate with a party - Invite a few friends over for a low-key graduation party. Serve a simple lunch (or just a treat), play a game or two, but mostly just let the kids play.

Celebrate with a new book - Take a trip to a local bookstore and let your soon-to-be kindergartener pick out a brand new book.  You might also consider a trip to the library to pick up some books all about kindergarten
